Oneglia – quarter in the Ligurian town of the Empire, until 1923, a former independent municipality. In the 8th century, after the departure of the Lombards, Oneglia became a papal possession, but was soon destroyed by the pirates of the Muslim brotherhood, which in those years was raging in the Ligurian sea. Later the city was rebuilt under the name Reap Onelee and became property of the bishops of Albenga.
