Light and music fountain is one of the attractions of the city of Cherkassy and daily in the warm season attracts not only residents but also visitors alike. It is located in the city center, on the Boulevard Shevchenko, near the building of regional administration.

The fountain in this place was built many years ago, but eventually was abandoned. And only in 2008, the city government has allocated funds for the restoration of the fountain. This time was upgraded – it has become a music. Today enjoy the beautiful play of light, music and water can all attend. Especially solemn and festive looks the fountain in the evening, when colored lights combined with classic soft music help to tune up the fountain with new faces.

It is interesting that city hall at the opening of the fountain was announced that all the coins that local residents and guests of the city will throw into the fountain (according to tradition – to go back to this place again), will be used to purchase musical instruments for the local children's music school. And at the moment, according to the Directorate of public utility company which has been servicing the music fountain, have managed to collect stuff for a few accordions.
