“If the king – water, I – forest. Forest expresses its dedication to water”: the words of Queen Sirikit of 20 December 1982. The organization of Botanical gardens of Thailand was established in 1992 in honor of the 60th anniversary of Her Majesty, in 1994 the Queen has given permission to use her name in the title. The main mission of the organization is the preservation of the priceless plant resources of Thailand.

Botanical garden Queen Sirikit national Convention center is located on the mountains of DOI Pui and DOI Suthep in the eponymous National Park is 27 km from the Northern capital city of Chiang Mai. The rich vegetation of the mountain provide themselves with water all year round and are perfect conditions for growing all sorts of plants.

To list all the species collected in this Northern oasis to infinity, in the territory of 2600 acres of forest area contains a huge amount of exotic, medicinal and most beautiful plants of Thailand and neighbouring countries.

Here are collected the world's largest collection of orchids that grow previously in the wild: 350 species of these amazingly beautiful flowers create a truly fabulous feeling.

The Botanical garden is not only a collection of different plants and a place to rest, on its territory are scientific research centers. The garden is home to many rare and endangered plant species characteristic of Thailand, the highly qualified specialists are constantly working on their study and protect. Extensive library makes it an ideal place for students studying conservation and ecology.

In the Botanical garden there are three specially designed tours and also have the opportunity to go wild, unspoiled nature, if you want it. Due to the fact that it is in a National Park, around the garden nature reigns and not a bustling city. On inspection of the entire Royal collection can take all day, so avoid haste garden visit is to plan ahead.
