Natural elephant Park represents an area of 800 hectares in the province of Chiang Mai, where the care of sick and injured animals. This is a rescue centre for all the elephants of Thailand, founded in 1990. The Park is located in a valley with flowing through it a river, surrounded by dense forests.

The founder of the Park Sangduen Lek Chailert was born in a mountain tribe in Northern Thailand, his grandfather was a man of the jungle and taught his nephew to communicate with wild elephants.

At elephant nature Park is home to not only the wounded animals, but also those who because of age can't work in the logging or tourism. They all get medical help and care. Most of the staff are local and foreign volunteers.

Elephant nature Park has gained worldwide recognition. "The times" in 2005, called it an “Asian hero of the year”. Mention of the Park found in such significant publications as National Geographic, as well as in the films Animal Planet, BBC, National Geographic and CNN. He has received a lot of awards there including the Smithsonian Institute. In 2010, Mr Lek, the founder of the Park, was in a meeting with U.S. Secretary of state Hillary Clinton in the White House.

All the Park staff saved more than 37 elephants across the country. It is important that the animals here are in their natural habitat, while receiving constant care. Accent elephant nature Park does not show as it happens in most cases, and on the salvation of animals.
