The Church of San Pedro is one of the oldest churches of Cordoba, located near the Cathedral in the square. Built in the 13th century after the liberation from Cordoba Moorish rule by king Ferdinand III, the Church of San Pedro is on the list of oldest churches of the city. Earlier in place of its construction was the temple, built in the 4th century, which housed the relics of the martyrs of córdoba.

The Church was built mainly in Gothic style, but in the 17th and 18th centuries it has undergone multiple changes, thanks to which in her appearance were features and other architectural styles typical of the era. The main facade of the building is decorated with a portal with lots of decorative elements designed by the architect hernán Ruiz the younger. The architect designed the entrance in the form of two triumphal arches, one above the other. At the bottom center of the arch gate is located in the building in the center of the top is the statue of the Apostle Peter. On either side of the main gate of the architect set the columns in the ionic style.

Inside the Church of San Pedro is divided into three naves, the ceiling is made according to the type of Gothic arches. In the Church there are two altarpiece amazing beauty, one of which was created by Alonso gómez de Sandoval, in 1742, and placed in the chapel of the Holy Martyrs, and the second, the main altarpiece of the Church is recognized as one of the most beautiful in Cordoba, is the creation of Felix de Morales.

In 1986 in the Church of San Pedro restoration works were started, and in 1996 her door again opened for residents and visitors to Cordoba.
