World Islands located in the United Arab Emirates, 4 km from the coastline of Dubai is an artificial archipelago, which consists of 300 Islands. Currently, the World Islands are the most unusual point on the globe.

The initiator of the archipelago were made by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum. In 1998, when Dubai built the world famous hotel Burj Al Arab, the tourism industry in the country began to develop rapidly. Due to the high construction intensity, over time, the entire 67-mile coastline was almost fully occupied. This led to the fact that for the further development of tourist business in Dubai just no room. And then the local leadership, it was decided the construction of seven new artificial Islands. But after a while it became clear that selling these huge areas of land almost impossible. So I decided to split large island to a huge number of little ones to each of them found a buyer.

During the construction of the archipelago used the latest Norwegian and Japanese technology. 300 artificial Islands were created in the form of the seven continents of the earth, which consequently gave the archipelago the name of The World, i.e. the World. And each buyer has the opportunity to purchase their own England, France or any of the American States.

Artificial archipelago with a total area of 55 sq km is the largest in the world. The size of the Islands range from 14 to 83 thousand sq. m. separated by Straits of a width of 50-100 m. From the mainland, the World's Islands are connected by sea and air. Drinking water and electricity also come from the mainland. For the protection of local flora and fauna around the Islands were placed colony of coral reefs. From large waves and other climatic disasters archipelago protects specially erected stage breakwater.
