Very beautiful house of the XVIII century gives an insight into the life of Goethe family. Here the poet was born on 28 August 1749.

The house was destroyed during the Second world war, but rebuilt later. The interior of the house was restored in a style typical of the late eighteenth century. Preserved table, where Goethe wrote his works.

In the next building is the Goethe Museum, which houses a collection of personal belongings and some of his manuscripts.
