Natural Park "Bulgarka" is located in the North of the Balkan mountain range in Bulgaria. The area of the Park is almost 22 thousand hectares. The Park is located on the territory of two municipalities: Tryavna and Gabrovo. The elevation of the Park is 1120 m, and the height above sea level on average is 940 m.

The Park is protected since 2002. The purpose of its protection – the conservation and restoration of flora and fauna, as well as beech ecosystems and characteristic of the Balkan landscape. In the Park "Bulgarka" there are 4 protected areas and some natural objects.

A huge variety of species of flora and fauna due to favorable climate and diverse topography. Beech forest in the Park is made up of 65% of the area, another 15% are the rest of the forest. It grows about 70% of medicinal plants in Bulgaria. In all, the area 1360 recorded plant species, 32 of which need protection. In addition, it is home to animals such as wolf, brown bear, badger, deer, boar, etc. of the birds, it is home to woodpeckers, swallows, eagles, etc.

In the Park "Bulgarka" is Sokolski monastery of the Dormition and the architectural-ethnographic complex "Etara". In the Park "Bulgarka" passes the European route of tourists Kom-Emine.

One of the most popular tourist ecological path – "usana". She goes through the same mountainous area where a designated geographical centre of Bulgaria. There is a cable car lift and equipped places to stay, including with children, barriers, panoramic sites. The nature trail is located near the village Besovets. There are also Cycling routes.

The area of the natural Park "Bulgarka" has developed traditions of ecotourism and rural tourism. The tourist center of the Park is located next to the architectural-ethnographic complex "Etara". Areas Codarcea and usana are ideal for horse riding. Fans of extreme tourism will be interesting to visit the caves of the top of Buzludzha and the cliffs near the village Stanchev. On the slopes of the peaks Bedec, Giant Grinder and you can do the Delta - and paragliding.
