Castle in the Kruszwica Royal castle in Central Poland, which was founded by king Casimir the Great. Now lies in ruins.

The construction of the fortification of the castle began in 1350 and lasted about five years. Rectangular fortress size 40x50 meters with walls with a height of 11 meters and a width of 2, 5 meters. The dominant element of the castle was preserved, and today the 30-meter tower in the basement of which was used as a prison. Around the perimeter of the fortress was defended by a wooden palisade, a deep moat and lake. To the main entrance led suspension bridge.

It is known that the castle for a long time is not reconstructed, and therefore does not meet the modern requirements of defence. As a result, he was captured by the Swedes in 1655 and was partially burned. The view of the appearance of the castle in the Kruszwica were obtained from the panorama, released in 1696.

Today, in addition to the Mouse tower partially preserved outer walls and fragments of slabs.

In 2011, archaeological excavations began in the basement of a former castle. One of the beautiful legends says that the Swedes hid in the cellars of the jewels, still hoping to return to the castle.

Tourists have the opportunity to see only a defensive tower as well as several photographs and drawings associated with the castle and surrounding area.
