Roman Agora is a shopping area, built by the Romans. Previously, it was a forum surrounded by a colonnade of the ionic order, built in the first century and fragments preserved until our days. On the North side of the square stands a powerful portico in the Doric style with the inscription "Athena the Leader".

Within the Roman Agora is the most significant and the oldest to date the monument to the Turkish era Athens – Fethiye mosque-Jami mosque, built in 1458 in honour took Constantinople by Mohammed the Conqueror (Mehmet Fatih).
