The building is newly renovated Municipal theatre was built in 1899. The three-storey building accommodates one thousand eight hundred spectators. The theatre is built in French colonial style, with a spatial ventilation and modern sound and lighting systems. For 20 years (since 1955) where the sittings of the National Assembly of South Vietnam.

In the theater now hosts various cultural events: concerts, festivals, theatrical and dance performances.
