The Park "Mini Indonesia" - a cultural and entertainment area located in East Jakarta. The Park covers a vast area of about 250 acres. Visitors will be able to learn a lot about Indonesia and its people, to see the country in miniature, hence the name of the Park. Since the Park is very large, its site visitors drive cars and bikes rented, so there is a traffic lights that regulate the movement of vehicles and pedestrians.
In the Park were pavilions museums, exhibits which reflect all aspects of daily life in 26 provinces of Indonesia the number of provinces was in 1975, to date, 34). In these pavilions exhibited objects Indonesian architecture, national costumes, sometimes even held a theatrical show, where the show of national costumes and demonstrate traditional dances.
Near these pavilions is an artificial lake with Islands in the middle, which its location is a clear mini model of world's largest archipelago, Indonesia.
The Park has a theater Tanah Airku (theatre "My native country"), a cinema and museums. All museums – 14, among them are the Museum of Komodo, the Museum of brands, the insect Museum, the Museum of East Timor and many others.
The idea of creating this Park, showing Indonesia in miniature, owned by city Hartinah, better known as Tien Suharto, the former first lady of Indonesia, the wife of Haji Muhammad Suharto, the second President of the Republic of Indonesia. Creating such a Park, city Hartinah wanted to cultivate a national culture of Indonesian people, to show how rich and diverse culture of Indonesia. Initially, the project was named "project of the Indonesia in miniature", and in 1972 it began to implement the Indonesian Fund Harappan whale. Today at the Park you can visit not only the museums, but the water Park.
