The monument theatre the audience was opened in Kaluga on 2 April 2008 and became a symbol of the Kaluga drama theatre. This monument – the first monument in the world dedicated to a theater audience. The author of the monument is the artist S. Farniev – teacher Kaluga College of culture.

The sculpture was cast in bronze at the art casting plant in Mytishchi and mounted the steps of the Drama theatre at Theatre square. The monument is a sculpture of a girl holding up a sign that says: “are There any extra ticket? ” The statue is 174 cm, it weighs 158 lbs.

Funds for the monument were collected throughout the city. Amateur theatre has been collected about 500 thousand rubles.

The opening of the monument was timed to the third all-Russian festival of the oldest theatres. At the solemn opening of the monument was attended by well-known actor Yuri Solomin, thanking residents who guessed to install such a monument.

And, as usual, at the monument at once had its own tradition: it is said that if you leave at the monument at least the penny, day went well.
