Bystrom, Karl Ivanovich – adjutant, hero of the Patriotic war, which broke out in 1812. This brave man dedicated to the famous monument, located in the town of Kingisepp and established in 1841 on the spot of the burial of General. The monument is located in the area of estate of hero, bearing the name of Romanovka.

On a large pedestal of granite is inscribed as follows: "the General and the adjutant K. I. Bistrom Guards corps as a symbol of eternal gratitude", Varna, battle of Borodino, the battle of ostrolenka. Initially between the lines of the inscription in large deepening of the rounded shape was placed a bronze bust of the great portrait of the adjutant General, but today it isn't already there, that most likely is the abduction of Nazi invaders during the enemy occupation of the city.

It is known that a commemorative monument was not destroyed. There is a famous case in 1919, the Bolsheviks decided to take the monument to scrap, dropping him with a granite pedestal. The mass of the bronze lion was so great that the activists were unable to load it into the truck. A very long time massive lion was to the gutter. At some point it was discovered Komilov J. A. – the authorized representative for the cultural institutions of Narkompros of the RSFSR. After this the lion was again set to the original location.

Despite the restoration of the bronze monument, the monument underwent another danger. One of the versions of the incident tells us that the work of Peter Klodt interested in German invaders in 1943 as a unique masterpiece of art casting. According to the logic of the Nazis, "Bronze lion" was certainly relocated to the Third Reich. The second version relies on an event when a commemorative monument was removed from the granite pedestal and taken to the city of Riga for further smelting. Later it became known that the workers of the Riga foundry zakłady metalowe decided to protect a unique piece of sculpture, keeping it buried in the ground. Soon the monument to K. I. Bistrom was found in Riga after she was finally released. Some time later, the bronze statue is back again for the purpose of restoration to Leningrad. After eight years, the monument was again transported to Vladivostok.

As we know from the history of the family of Karl Bistrom Ivanovich, any heirs or descendants. For this reason, according to the spiritual Testament of the deceased, the estate in Yamburg to the life annuity great nephews of the adjutant General – Ardeleanu and Nikolai Bistream, Vera Arsenevskoe – beloved niece, as well as loyal friends of Karl Ivanovich – General Semiauto Valerie and Colonel Kratovo Michael. In addition, General Bystrom in life gave her the order for the construction of a wheelchair at home, designed to guard soldiers that were carried out on the income derived from the ownership of the estate. Today wheelchair house is still preserved and has found its application as a ski base.
