In December 2011 opened its doors to visitors new high-tech wonder Museum in Lima. Metropolitan Museum in Lima is the first fully virtual Museum of the country. In its technical arms - using films, 2D, 3D and even 4D, and the use of holograms and other technical details which will guide the visitor through 10,000 years of the history of Lima and even show the future: what will be the capital of Peru in 2050.

The Metropolitan Museum is housed in a building built in 1925 to host the first exhibition of the mining industry, and later it housed the headquarters of the Ministry of transport and communications. In 2005 it was decided to make this building in the list of historical monuments of Peru.

Beautiful building with marble staircases and the interior in the style of the late 1920's, it became home to a modern Museum showing the history of Lima. The Museum has more than 20 rooms. Upon entering the Museum visitors are greeted by a beautiful video about the National library. Ricardo Palma. Further hologram accompany tourists on their way through the entire history of Lima, divided into pre-Hispanic era, colonial period, the independence period, the period of XX and XXI centuries, highlighting all the important episodes in the life of the city. In the hall "LimeƱan Soul" you will get acquainted with the typical city life, music, architecture, religion, scientists and representatives of the literature.

The Metropolitan Museum can be visited only with a guided tour. Groups of 20 to 30 people gather at the entrance. So be prepared to wait for several minutes until a sufficient number of people. The tour lasts about 1. 5 hours, but in the near future it is planned to extend to 3 hours, once all the "exhibits" will be posted and included in the tour. Unfortunately, now all the movies are dubbed in Spanish! Tours in English are in development.
