One of the main wonders of Cuba, the pearl its unique nature can be called the cave of Bellamar. It is located near the town of Matanzas. Bellamar was opened in 1850, when local shepherds lost sheep, and in search of the missing animal came upon the entrance to the underground depths. However, at the time people were superstitious, and believed that the caves were haunted by evil spirits. So for 100 years where no foot may tread. And only in the second half of the twentieth century, researchers began to study Bellamar. To view it in all its glory, picked out a ton of water and limestone. Its main decoration and stalagmite and stalactite crystal formation, some of them for 40,000 years. The tourists are offered a route length of three hundred meters, but that's enough to get a lot of impressions. The crystals on the walls, similar to stars, different breeds are iridescent, karst lakes and streams wash the bizarre rocks. Special attention deserves the so-called "Columbuses cloak". It is quite unusual crystal formation height of 12 meters, reminiscent of the folds of the cloak. Its grandeur is striking and the so-called "Gothic hall" - a vast grotto with amazing rock formations, whose length is 80 meters, width - 25 m.
