Central children's Park of culture and rest named after Maxim Gorky in Minsk is one of the oldest and most beautiful parks of the capital of Belarus. The year of its Foundation is considered 1805.

He founded a city garden in Minsk Governor Zachary Aleksei Korneev. The garden received the Governor's name. He originally planned to stay a decent audience. It was a large Park with an area of 18 hectares, which were flower beds, paved paths and dug canals. That it was the garden for the educated public, evidence was found on one of the trees a sign in Latin that reads: "Post laborem requies" - after work relaxation.

In the late nineteenth century, when it became fashionable to play sports not only men but also progressive women appeared in the Park, in the European manner, stadium, courts for lawn tennis, croquet, track Cycling. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle in the citizens in the Park was prohibited to sell alcoholic beverages. Thanks to his energetic leadership has been restored and expanded Park, the stadium built rides and a summer cinema with a simple and straightforward name "Summer".

In the 1970s, there was a large fire, which burned the track and a summer cinema. In their place was an indoor skating rink built – the pride of Minsk, which hosted hockey games and figure skating competitions.
