Petrus Brovka (Pyotr Ustinovich Brovka) – a prominent Belarusian writer, poet and statesman. Pyotr Ustinovich was born 12 June 1905 in a peasant family. He has come a long way from peasant boys who graduated from a parochial school to the Deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, the founder and chief editor of the Belarusian Soviet encyclopedia.
Energetic, principled, honest and assertive in life, Petrus Brovka wrote amazingly soft, lyrical poems. As came to his Muse, he himself was not aware, as openly admitted in his poems. Petrus Brovka has published numerous collections of poems, several novels. The names themselves say about their fine and noble content: "home from sea", "the Arrival of the hero", "Ways boroviki", "Nadia Nadaka".
In 1980, after the death of the writer, according to the Decree of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus from July 10, 1980, No. 256 "About perpetuating of memory of the national poet of the Byelorussian SSR P. W. Edge (Petrus Brovki)" in his apartment in Minsk was created by the state literary Museum. The Museum offers not only tours, but also literary competitions for children and adults, about the life of the poet, Belarusian poetry and literature. The Museum is a great educational work among the younger generation.
The Museum is located at the address: K. Marx str., 30. This building, built by architect G. guy at the end of the nineteenth century, itself an architectural masterpiece of the art Nouveau style.
