Decembrists in the manor village Khomutets, Myrhorod district, Poltava region is a monument of history and architecture of the late 18th - early 19th cent.
Information about the wooden Palace and the garden left a well-known scientist A. Goldenstedt, who in 1774, together with the Russian scientific expedition visited the village Khomutets.
In the early 19th century the estate in the inheritance got famous Russian philosopher, diplomat, translator, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences and a descendant of Hetman D. Apostol, I. M. Muravyov-Apostol. After the resignation of Muraviev-Apostol moved to the village Khomutets, where he revived and arranged the family estate. His sons - Matthew, Hippolyte and Sergey were active participants in the Decembrist movement.
Two-storey Central part of the Palace, connecting the semi-circular transitions with side wings, forming a U-shaped form. From the Park facade was located terrace-loggia with stairs that led to a pond with Islands. The Park area is 77 ha.
In 1824-1825, Hautacam the Palace was held the meeting of the Decembrists, which brings together the famous companions of the conspiracy brothers Muravyov-Apostol - P. Pestel, M. Lerer, N. Bestuzhev-Ryumin and other Decembrists, as evidenced by a plaque with the traditional profiles of the Decembrists (1975). After the death of the owner of the estate, the estate passed to his youngest son V. Muravyov-Apostol.
Since 1920, the Palace of the manor housed agroprima, and since 1930 the College of the pig, which in 1933 became the veterinary College.
Today, hidden in the center of the Park manor of the Decembrists is located within the veterinary College. The main Palace building is in disrepair. It seems closed, but separate doors and Windows in places anymore. Broken and dying estate just disappears.
