The memorial complex "Buinichi field" was opened on 9 may 1995 in honor of the 40th anniversary of victory over Nazi Germany. The memorial complex is located in the site of fierce fighting for the defense of Mogilev in 1941. The construction of the memorial complex was held under the creative guidance of architects Chalenko V. V. and O. P. Baranowski.
The total area of the memorial complex covers 22 hectares. The main dominant of the red chapel, inside which immortalized the names of the heroes fallen in the battle for Mogilev. The chapel is built of red brick in the traditions of the Belarusian temple architecture and is a symbol of sorrow and eternal memory of the fallen heroes of the war. Under the chapel is a crypt with those found on the battlefields remains nameless warriors.
To the chapel are four alleys. One of them starts from the entrance of the red arch, on which is placed a Board with an appeal to posterity. Another walkway leads to the Lake of Tears – the symbol of mother of tears, shed for her dead sons. In the middle of the lake there is an islet on which there is a bridge. The third alley leads to the Stone Michael is the writer saying: "All his life he remembered the battlefield 1941 and bequeathed to dispel the dust." During the battle for Mogilev young Konstantin Simonov was a war correspondent and saw everything with your own eyes. Later, his memories are reflected in the work of the writer. Fourth Avenue is called the Alley Defenders. Near it is a memorial stone with the inscription: "the Alley defenders of Mogilev".
The modern Republic of Belarus is a young country, remembering and honoring those to whom it owes its existence. Here, you respect the veterans and care for them. On Buinichi field meetings are held the younger generation with those few veterans who are still alive, lessons of courage, celebrated the great Victory day.
