Castle-Park complex it is part of the historic town centre and is situated near the Church of St. John the Baptist. He is recognized as a cultural monument of the Czech state, is mentioned in all the guidebooks, and visiting it is one of the main reasons for which thousands of tourists each year who come to it.

The two-storey building consists of three wings surrounding a courtyard in the shape of a letter U.

Originally in hlučín was built a wooden fortress, which housed a garrison of well-trained soldiers. Since the city was considered the frontier, his defense was the focus of attention. Wooden Gothic Fort was rebuilt in stone castle, which was first mentioned in literature in 1439. The researchers suggest that the first was built the South wing of the castle, and later there were added the other parts.

In 1525 the castle was rebuilt as directed by the city owners – the wealthy aristocrats who wished to use the castle as his residence. At the end of the sixteenth century was built the last of the East wing, decorated through arcades.

The seventeenth century brought a lot of trouble for the castle: he burned down several times and then rebuilt. And the last reconstruction was carried out by the famous Italian architect J. Vlach. In the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, the castle remade many times.

The Palace, it is surrounded by a beautiful Park where you can see rare species of plants. Elegant benches installed in hidden corners of the Park, allow you to spend some moments in peace and tranquility in nature.
