Before the appearance of the town Vrbno fertile valley of the three Moravian rivers was not empty. For one, it has several locks. In the XIII century on the Castle hill with a height of 854 meters was founded the fortress Furstenwalde, the ruins of which can still be seen today. It was built to protect the trade road running in these places. The fortress was large and included, in addition to the main residential building, two towers, a few selkhozstroi. All that the manor was surrounded by walls with a thickness of 2 meters.

Then near the castle fürstenwalde were built two fortresses. In the end, the ruler mikuláš II in 1348 issued a decree on the establishment between the three locks of the village. I must say that some semblance of the town at that time already existed. Here come the miners from neighbouring Silesia for the development of gold mines. Appeared city Vrbno-under-Pradedem, so named because above the whole valley was dominated mountain great-Grandfather, was what had become their home. However, city law this settlement was only in 1611.

Preserved in the vicinity of the city and ruins of two other castles called Weisenstein and Rabenstein. Many tourists arriving in Vrbno-under-Pradedem, with pleasure go to storm them. These castles were founded in the late thirteenth century and played the role of customs offices.

While walking around the city you can visit several beautiful churches, including the Church of St. Michael in the eponymous square. It was built in 1837-1844 year in the Empire style and since then had not been rebuilt. Initially it was supposed to attach to it two towers, but during the work on the temple was discovered architectural mistake, and from the construction of the second tower had to be abandoned.
