Moscow drama theatre under the direction of Armen Jigarkhanyan is on Lomonosovsky Prospekt. The theatre was established in March 1996. The basis of the troupe of the new theatre graduates of the course, which was led by Professor Armen Dzhigarkhanyan VGIK.

Original name of theatre – theatre "D". The theatre occupied a small room with a tiny auditorium on the street co-op. First shown in the theater performance was a solo performance of Armen Dzhigarkhanyan - "Krapp's Last tape" (S. Beckett). Then came the premiere performances of "twelfth night, or what you want" (W. Shakespeare, directed by K. Azarian), "the Cossack, or Camisole from Mascarilla" (J. Moliere, directed by K. Nersisyan). "A live theater!" at the vaudeville A. Lensky and A. Bondi. "Leo Said Sinichkin" (directed by Vladimir Druzhinin). "Mozart and Salieri" Pushkin (Director V. Sarkisov). Varied repertoire complement children's plays: "Ali Baba and the forty thieves", "Good country Australia.

Such a diverse repertoire is the result of hard work and not always able even the venerable theaters. Young theatre successfully coped with the challenge. The theatre performances have deserved success among audiences and critics. Armen Dzhigarkhanyan proved himself as a very talented teacher.

The new building, with an auditorium of 500 seats theatre received in November 2002. It is located in a picturesque area of Moscow on the Sparrow hills.

Theatre of Armen Dzhigarkhanyan travels all over Russia. From tours he traveled to St. Petersburg, Perm, Kostroma, Saratov, Kaluga, Yekaterinburg, Cherepovets, Lipetsk, Yaroslavl and Murmansk. Toured the theatre and many of the city suburbs.
