The Palace of the Taj Mahal (Taj Mahal Palace) is a luxury hotel located in the city of Mumbai right on the shore of the Arabian sea, near Apollo Bunder. Its founder is an Indian steel tycoon, Jamsedji Nusserwanji Tata. Construction was started in 1898 and lasted until 1903. As conceived by Tata, the hotel was supposed to be the jewel of Bombay – lush, rich and unique. Furniture and interior items specially ordered in Europe personally Jamsedji Nusserwanji, and graceful columns of the Central hall were designed by Gustav Eiffel.

The huge building of the Taj Mahal Palace hotel built in European style and has 7 floors. In the Central part of the hotel superstructure surmounted by a large dome with a turret. In the courtyard of the building is a large swimming pool with terrace.

On site are the best restaurants in the city. And 500 rooms, including h suites offer breathtaking views of the Arabian sea and the famous gateway of India, which are located nearby. The interior of each room is unique and luxurious. And the halls are decorated with handmade carpets, expensive paintings and finishing of semi-precious stones.

The Palace the Taj Mahal is a very popular place among politicians, athletes, businessmen, showbiz stars. At various times in this place were celebrities, such as Mick Jagger, John Lennon with Yoko Ono, George Bernard Shaw and many others. Also the hotel is famous for the fact that in 1947 it was proclaimed the independence of India.

Later, the Palace grounds of the Taj Mahal became upset – was constructed near the high tower, which is part of the hotel. But over time, there is a whole chain of hotels, "Taj Mahal", which are located not only in India but around the world.
