Monastery of St. John the Baptist - one of the most prominent shrines of the city of Novosibirsk and a popular place of pilgrimage for many Orthodox.

The history of the monastery began in 1993, when one is a believer patron decided to build a cemetery near the temple in memory of his dead son. The construction of the temple took place rather quickly and in the same year it was officially consecrated in honor of St. Eugene. After some time in the monastery began to move people from across the country wishing to devote his life to monasticism and to God. In October 1999, the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church adopted a resolution on the establishment of the monastery of the Holy Martyr Eugenia in Novosibirsk.

In 2001, in the newly built Church of the Archangel Michael moved the monastery of Zaeltsovsky district and received a plot of land near the temple, where he began the construction of buildings necessary for the monastery. The Church of the Archangel Michael, built in 1996, was built in 1999, however, the finishing work continued until 2003, the Brick building of the temple, made with Russian architectural style, consists of a main octagonal volume, topped by a cupola and bell tower, beneath a bulbous dome.
