Holy hill is part of Olomouc – it is located just 8 km from the historic centre. To the foot of the hill, with a height of 412 m, bus schedules, so the trip there will not cause any difficulties. This is a unique place that you must visit during his visit to the former capital of the Moravian region. First, because there built the splendid temple, which the Roman Pontiff John Paul II in 1995 granted the title of Basilica. It is a place of pilgrimage for many Czechs, the place is full of legends about the appearance of the virgin Mary. They say that until the Church of the Visitation of the virgin Mary hill was decorated with a small chapel, built by merchant Jan Advicecom involved in the wine trade. In 1669 began construction of a Grand temple, which we see now.

The temple, its facade turned towards Gradskova monastery. This was done specifically so that the priest leading the service at the Church of the Visitation of the virgin Mary, was struck by the sign of the cross and the monastery.

On the Holy hill is another attraction of the city – the local zoo, which is one of the largest on the territory of the Czech state. The zoo is also based a large aquarium, which is inhabited by representatives of the marine world. There are even a few sharks.

The zoo is located, and an observation tower with a height of 27 meters, which was built in the 70-ies of XX century. From the tower one can see the whole zoo and its inhabitants, but also of the mountain massif of the Jeseniky mountains, and the surroundings of the Holy hill – city districts of Olomouc.
