Nicholas Cossack Cathedral is the oldest standing temple in the city of Omsk. First the issue of the construction of the temple for the Siberian Cossack army rose in 1829, the Initiator of the construction of the Cathedral was made by A. M. Lukin.

The icons for the Church was written by the academician of painting M. Myagkov and artist P. Skorospelov. The iconostasis was made by masters I. Dolnym and P. Batov from Ekaterinburg.
