Theatre of the Young Spectator in Omsk is one of the most favorite places of cultural activities in the city. Omsk theatre, better known as Omsk youth theatre (theatre for children youth), was founded in 1937, the Initiators of its creation were urban children and youth organizations with the support of teachers and artists.
The opening of the Theatre took place in may 1937 in the club name Lobkova. The first show was called "to be Continued...". Among the first actors of the theater was J. V. Dvorzhetsky. During the war the performances on the stage of theatre of the Young spectator put the famous Russian Director and actor N. P. Okhlopkov, who was in Omsk in the evacuation.
Touring theatre began in 1954 Performances Omsk Spectators first saw in Anzhero-Sudzhensk, after in Novosibirsk, Chelyabinsk and Dnepropetrovsk. A little later, the troupe visited Yalta, Evpatoria and Feodosia.
In 1966, the local government has allocated for the construction of the theatre land. In 1967 he received his own building, which houses the present day. In dramatic theatre, in addition to good performances of the classical repertoire, are vivid and memorable performances for children.
The troupe Omsk theatre consists of 33 people, among them are honored artists of Russia: V. Rostov, A. Fish, L. Yakovleva, I. Abramov and V. Saptaswara.
Each year the Theatre for children and youth city holds a festival called "Autumn meeting in the youth Theatre, which devotes to the residents of the city of Omsk and its viewers. Also held annually in may mini-festival "theatre for young people – the children of the village". These days, the theatre welcomes the students from all parts of the region.
Omsk theatre for young people is a participant of the International festival of theatres for children "Raduga", festival "Siberian transit" and "Theatre without borders". The initiator and organizer of this work is the Director of the theatre Vladimir Sokolov.
