In one of the districts of Ostrava called Přívoz, which was a separate settlement, on the street Sarasavi is the Fire Museum. It is a relatively young Museum since it first opened its doors only in 2005. However, it has already become one of the most beloved citizens of museums Ostrava.
Interestingly, the exposition of the Fire Museum is housed in a building from 1905, in which was a paragraph of firefighters who have worked for almost 80 years. At first it served the German-speaking citizens, which then changed the Czechs. The fire Department disbanded in 1980, after which the building was not empty and was used as a training center for future fire fighters. During the work of the fire station and training in fire safety was collected many exhibits, which are periodically exhibited to the public. Such temporary exhibition was very popular among local inhabitants and the visiting tourists. In the end, it was decided to give the building of the fire point under constant Fire Museum. In 2003-2004, was a large-scale renovation of the old mansion in which it has expanded and adapted for 6 permanent exhibitions: "breathing Technique", "fire", "the Development of technology and equipment for fire fighting", "Critical situation", "Video", "fire and police Cooperation in an accident".
The Museum also has a whole Department has a collection of fire trucks, and there are antique copies.
