Roman Catholic Church of St. Bartholomew cemetery is located on the Ostrava area of Nova ves and informally called by the locals "Grabko". The name is easily explained: it is said that the oldest part of the temple – the Renaissance sacristy is over someone's grave. Who is buried there is unknown even to historians.

In 1443 the local priest Gregor was built on the site of the future Church of St. Bartholomew is a small chapel. She stood short and was demolished in the next century. Instead erected a Gothic chamber of the temple, which in the XVIII century joined Baroque chapel. The Church was completely reconstructed. First repairs were held here in 1807. Then there was a threat of demolition of the temple, as it was so old that threatened to collapse at any moment. However, the Church survived, was repaired and once again began to take parishioners. The second major reconstruction occurred in 1913. Despite difficult times, the Church was patched and hoped that he will stand for at least another hundred years, until the descendants will not take on the responsibility for taking care of him.

On the main altar of the Church is a statue of the patron Saint of the former town, now a district of Ostrava Nova ves – Saint Bartholomew. Beside the altar you can see the coat of arms of Franz always from Mandorf, which dates from the XVII century.

The Church of St. Bartholomew surrounds the cemetery, on which grows a very old tree – three hundred year old Linden. She is considered one of the local attractions.
