Prstenova square in Pardubice is famous for its beautiful mansions, almost each of which has its own history, and some even their own name. It is to such unique homes is building at number 60. It is the home of "The White Horse", which is considered one of the oldest in Pardubice. It was built on the site of a Gothic mansion, the victim in the fire of 1507. New owner – city mayor Ian Roman – for the erection of a new home used the base of the burnt down old. Throughout the whole century, this mansion was called "the Romanov" by the name of the owner.
At the end of the XVIII century the heirs of Jan Novel sold the house to the Jan brewer Bielsko 3700 gold. In those days the house had a different name "The White Horse". It appeared on the basis of one legend: the owners of the house claimed that the famous military commander Albrecht von Wallenstein for a long time sat in a carriage drawn by white horses, at the mansion Novels in anticipation of the contract against the Habsburgs with Yaroslav Racine from Rosenberg, lives there. The meeting was held in the Pardubice castle. In honor of this event, the mansion became known as "The White Horse".
In the eighteenth century this house was the largest Inn in Pardubice. In the courtyard was a place for carriages and carts. Still here you can see a summer terrace, decorated in a rustic style.
A tavern and a hotel if it were never empty. Many visitors especially during the time of fairs and harvest festivals.
After the Second world war, this house was given to ordinary citizens to live in. Now here there is a Chinese restaurant.
