Museum of the liberation of Paris officially called unusual memorial-Museum Leclerc and Jean Moulin. Two names in the title reflect the origin of the collection.
The main part of the exhibition tells the story of two legendary figures: Marshal Jean Philippe Leclercq, and one of the founders of the French Resistance Jean Moulin. At the end of the last century first Foundation in memory of Leclerc, and then a friend of Jean Moulin Antoinette Sass donated to the Paris collection owned by them – on the condition that the memorial will be named by the names of the characters.
The names of these symbolize the two forces that, combined, led to the country's liberation from Nazi occupation: the current inside the French Resistance and de Gaulle's troops, called "Fighting France".
The artist and the bureaucrat Jean Moulin in 1941 got from occupied France to London and met with de Gaulle. The Museum features the etchings of Jean Moulin to the poetry of Tristan Corbier, clandestine leaflets and Newspapers, propaganda posters collaborators. In the dining room oval wall turned into fourteen screens, which recreated footage of the liberation of Paris, the visitor is immersed in an atmosphere of jubilation free city.
The Museum is located in the heart of the Latin quarter which was often an art lover Jean Moulin. It housed the command post of General Leclerc on August 25, 1944, the day of the liberation of the capital.
