House music is the main concert hall in Porto, which houses three of the music city orchestra: national orchestra of Porto, Orchestra Barroca and Remix Ensemble.

This is an unusual architectural structure is located on the square Boavista. The House of music was designed by the Dutch architect REM Koolhaas. Critics have called the House of music in Porto one of the best works by REM Koolhaas. The construction of this building was part of the project to the city in 2001 in the framework of the EU initiative "European capital of culture", in this year, the Port was awarded the title. But the building was finished only in the first half of 2005 and immediately became a symbol of the city because of its unusual shape. The construction was implemented by the famous English building Corporation "Arap" together with Portuguese construction company. Interior decoration of the auditorium was made by famous Danish architectural company. In 2005, in April the President of Portugal, officially opened the House of music. After the ceremony featured a concert by the National orchestra of Porto, which was attended by prominent politicians of the city.

At the House of music there are two main auditorium. A large auditorium can accommodate more than 1200 people. Small auditorium, which can be used as audience, on average, can accommodate 300 people. There are other areas that are smaller in size, which have all the conditions for holding small concerts and other musical activities.
