The Church of the miraculous image of the Lord Jesus Christ is the Pskov Orthodox Church. It is also called the Church Bratskoe with Toad ławica airport (that was the name of a small swamp, around which was built the Church).
The Church was first mentioned in Chronicles in 1487, when in Pskov was a terrible pestilence. In September 1540, in the city, on Zemskova, there was a big fire, but the wooden Church was not damaged. There is no data about when the Church made of wood was replaced by the existing one. In documents in 1745 to the temple "not made with hands image from Zemskova that Ilyinsky gate" was assigned 25 parish households. In 1852 the Church was intended to be torn down and demolished almost to half, but in 1854, and in other sources – in 1857 the Church was restored. Most likely, at this time was made of a flat slab of wood and a muffled drum. In November 1931 the Church was closed and the building was occupied schools workshops.
In 1960, under the leadership of B. S. Skobeltsyn here were conducted architectural and archaeological investigation of the building was a partial restoration and reconstruction of the interior of the quadrangle. The Church building was adapted to a retail outlet and warehouse. In the same year, in August, the Church of the miraculous image of the Lord Jesus Christ was declared a monument of national importance and are under state protection.
The length of the Church is 30 meters width – 20 meters. Built of local limestone slabs on mortar. Bushel – pillarless, one-apse, with a flat wooden ceiling, which serves as a support for decorating the muffled drum, ending in a bulbous head. Apse is an altar, semi-cylindrical. The Western side of the quadrangle is attached porch and porch with large openings inherent from the North and South. The South side is adjacent to the temple chapel, with the apse in the form of a rectangle. Above you can see the tent and onion on a decorative cupola drum. From the West wall of the chapel concludes with a belfry. It has 3 pillars and 2 flights and covered with a gable roof. Bell – asymmetrical, shifted to the South-West wall.
The decoration of the facades of the Church is humility. At the North and South facades of the rectangle are partially preserved scapula. On the South side you can see a small niche with ogee-shaped arches. North and South walls of the square have large window openings, decorated bulbous arched lintels. In the southwest corner of the quadrangle is the doorway leading into the South aisle. In the North wall is a small doorway. Two Windows in the apse there.
Torispherical arch with Stripping over the Windows, shutting off the South aisle and located above the eyes of him. The Eastern part of the chapel contains the remains of a ceramic floor that belong to the XVII century. The floor of the temple is unique among local churches and civil buildings. Outdoor pattern consists of squares, parallelograms, rhombuses and narrow rectangles, forming bands, which limit the Central path running along the aisle. The tiles are made in a reddish-brown, dark brown and light yellow colors.
In the primary form preserved side of the South facade and the eyes. In the South facade 2 Windows with bulbous arch dams. The cabin also has 2 small slit-like Windows, between which there is a niche with ogee-shaped arches. A gable roof covers the eyes. On the roof is a decorative drum, the head and metal cross.
The Central part of the porch covers torispherical arch, resting on 2 side korobovich arch, which are perpendicular to the Central. The porch has a gable roof. In its North wall are 2 deep burial niches.
The Church of the miraculous image of the Lord Jesus Christ is a historical and cultural monument of Federal value.
