Already in 1852 Anglican congregation officially founded in 1830, is shown a plot for the construction of the temple. The first phase of construction began in 1853, but soon the construction work had to stop due to the start of the Crimean war. After signing the Treaty of Paris, the construction of the temple continued.

Building materials – Sandstone, brick, earth for the Foundation were brought parishioners from the regions of the United Kingdom. This Patriotic gesture emphasized that the temple is located on British soil.

The first stone in the Foundation of the Church was solemnly laid on 16 June 1857. Two years later, the Anglican Church was consecrated by Bishop Trovero. The official name of the Church marked on the entrance: "The Factory Church of St. Savior, Riga".

The temple is made in a bright brick red colour, here and there occurs a reddish tinge, sometimes Burgundy. Above the entrance are classical choirs, above the altar – star-shaped vaults in pseudo-Gothic style. The facade is decorated with Gothic arches, performs a decorative function.
