National historical Museum of Brazil was opened in Rio de Janeiro in 1922 by decree of the President. In 1940 he became world famous. The Museum is located in the architectural complex of Santiago Forte. The area of the Museum covers about 20000 square meters. The opening of the National historical Museum was the impetus for the formation and opening of museums throughout Brazil.
