Kamensky Museum of decorative art and folk art – a place where you can get to know the artistic heritage of the don Cossacks, the cradle of the culture and life of the Cossacks, to see the products of their crafts. The Museum is located on Karl Marx, 56, in the centre of the town of Kamensk-Shakhtinsky in Rostov region.

Originally a two storey building with a high basement housed the local history Museum opened on April 19, 1969, the building Itself, like a large Cossack Kuren, belonged to the Cossack Colonel Peter Mikhailov. In 1918, it housed a WRC Fedor Kazakov Podtyolkov. The building received the status of historical monument.

In 2003, the Museum was renamed "Kamensky Museum of decorative arts and folk art", becoming the only Museum of such specialization in the field. 30 thousand exhibits fill the halls and vaults of this institution of culture. His exhibition of folk applied art are enriched by the finds from the surrounding city 36 villages and farms. On the first floor of the Museum houses archaeological collections and several dioramas devoted to the fauna of the steppes, marshes and ponds edge. The exposure of the second floor is devoted to the history of the don Cossacks, the Kamenka village, the revolutionary time period of the great Patriotic war.
