Government Palace, built by local stonemasons, was built in neo-Gothic style, according to the project of the Roman architect Francesco Goal. Construction began in 1884 and lasted 10 years. The facade of the Palace castles decorated with coats of arms of the Republic. The upper part of the Palace is decorated with golfscope teeth. Left of the facade is a tower-bell tower with a clock, which depicts the figure of St. Marina, standing between STS. Agafia and a Lion.

In front of Government Palace is located, the area of Freedom, or as it is called, Pianella in the center of which rises majestically statue of Liberty sculptor, Galetti, donated to San Marino from the Countess of Otylia the Characters of Wagner in 1876.
