The Museum building was built as a watchtower and fortifications in the first half of the eighteenth century and served as a transit point for prisoners, marching on stage. At the beginning of the nineteenth century, the building housed the police Department. In the mid-nineteenth century moved into the building Sretensky male primary school where to 1899. to 1901. studied diploma and the law of God K. A. Fedin. In the post-revolutionary period, the building was given to the kindergarten, where he comfortably survived until the 70-ies.

In 1981. the building opened national Museum of K. A. Fedin, the main exposition of which is "history of literature of the twentieth century".

The Museum building is one of the oldest buildings of the city, extant, and is a monument of architecture.

In Fedin Museum often hosts poetry evenings, meetings with artists and writers, musicians and poets. Every year, during the "night of museums" (a favorite tradition Saratov) the building opens doors to all who want to literature and art, spending every fifteen minutes free tours.

The Museum is located at the intersection of Chernyshevsky and October, on the square of K. A. Fedin, in a picturesque location.
