Close to arena Plaza de Toros de La Maestranza, almost on the banks of the Guadalquivir river in Sevilla is a building charity hospital De La Caridad, or mercy Hospital. The founder of the hospital was don Miguel Manyara, who after the death of his young wife decided to build there the hospital.

Hospital De La Caridad was built on the ruins of the old chapel in 1662. The author of the project was the architect Bernardo simón de Pineda, he was also the Creator of many sculptures and other decorative elements in the facade and interior decoration of the building. The facade of the Church of the hospital is designed in the Baroque style and is visually divided horizontally into three parts. Two top decorated with tiles depicting Saints James and George, as well as virtues – Faith, Hope and Love. In the third, the lower part of the facade is the entrance, where, on both sides of the door are sculptures of San Fernando and San Hermenegildo.

Major work on the design of the Church of the hospital were conducted Seville outstanding artists Bartolome Murillo and Valdes by Leal, in particular, Leal was painted the dome of the Church and the lunettes at the sides of the altar, he also participated in the construction and decoration of the altar. Working on the creation of the altar of the Church was completed in 1674, it is a sculptural composition "Pieta", created by Pedro Roldan. The Church walls are decorated with beautiful paintings of artists Murillo and Bernardo simón de Pineda.
