The picturesque Greek island of Skopelos in the Aegean sea is one of the most popular tourist destinations of Greece.

The second largest town of Skopelos Glossa is located about 11 km North-West of the capital of the island. Small picturesque town is situated amphitheatrically on a hillside at an altitude of 200-250 m above sea level. Glossa is a traditional Greek village with narrow cobbled streets, white houses with red tiled roofs, wooden balconies and a huge number of colors. The city is surrounded by pine forests, and lots of almond trees and plane trees.

Glossa – a small oasis of authentic Greek Paradise, virtually untouched by mass tourism. The majority of narrow cobbled streets, steeply climbing to the top of the hill, absolutely not meant for road transport, and local residents strictly observe Siesta. Glossa is the ideal place for lovers of quiet and measured rest. Here you will find a good selection of comfortable apartments and cosy taverns and cafes with excellent Greek cuisine. There are in the village several supermarkets and mini-markets.

The port of Glossa is called Loutraki and it is located about 20-30 minutes walk from the town. Loutraki is the second largest port of the island. There are good hotels and apartments, stunning beaches and excellent tavernas and cafes. The waterfront offers splendid views of the island of Skiathos. In guidebooks Loutraki often listed as "Glossa".

Near the harbour are the main attractions of Glossa – the ruins of the Roman baths (4th century BC), the remains of the ancient citadel Selinus and the temple of Athena (presumably 5th century BC). In the vicinity of Glossa is also worth a visit the Church of Agias Ioannis Kastri where they filmed some scenes of the famous film "Mama MIA", and the monastery of the Archangels.
