The monument to the Anchor and cannon, located in the Park on the black sea lane – memorial composition, established in memory of the Russian victory over Turkey in the war of 1828-1829

Another war between Turkey and Russia took place because of the rivalry in the Balkans and the Caucasus. Russian troops under the command of I. F. Paskevich won several decisive victories in the Caucasus. In September 1829, was signed quite favorable for the Russian Empire Adrianople Treaty, according to which a large part of the black sea coast passed into the possession of Russia. Including the territory of modern Sochi. This solved one of the main tasks of the foreign policy for the last century - Russia had access to the southern seas.

The opening of the monument took place on April 23, 1913 to the 75th anniversary of the founding of the city of Sochi and the 300th anniversary of the house of Romanov. The memorial was erected on the initiative and at the expense of resident Sochi - a retired Admiral Dolinsky, L. F.

The anchor for over 230 years, but despite this, there is no rust, and it still is in excellent condition. The anchor is not only a Testament to the heroism and courage of the Russian troops, but also a monument to Russian metallurgists.
