Historical Museum of the town of Etropole is located in Bulgaria 80 km on northeast from Sofia and 13 km from the town of Pravets. The first Museum exposition was presented to the public in 1958. In 1968 the building was renovated police Department period of the Ottoman Empire, called Konak. In the building of the Konak were placed in new collection.
Historical Museum of the town of Etropole is located in a mansion built in 1853-1870. In the Museum, ten rooms, containing different exposure time. There are monuments preserved from the bronze age. They are in 3-2 centuries BC and testify to the appearance of people in Etropole valley and their resettlement. In the archaeological hall can get acquainted with the objects to be ancient Thracians: stone axes, hammers, all kinds of vessels, and clay urns and amphorae.
In the next room are a collection of jewelry 5-4 centuries BC, there are rings, brooches, bibs made of gold and the storage vessel fragrant ointments – glass alabaster.
Ethnographic exhibition is reserved four rooms. They can see clothes, jewelry and household items belonging to the 19th century, items of art and Handicrafts from the 16th to the 20th century, as well as documents and photographs. Presented at the tools that belonged to the miners of the past: miners lamps, tongs, shovels and wooden ladders. You can also look at works by local artists, for example, gunsmiths and blacksmiths, such as skilled knives.
In the exposition of the Central hall on one of the floors exposed metal pair buckle women's national costumes, party decorated with pearls and filigree ornaments. It also includes gold bracelets, earrings and rings by local artists and suits the karakachan people (Greek-speaking ethnic group living in the mountains of the area).
In other museums monuments shown Etropole school writing 16-17 centuries, introducing regional development education, as well as medals, awards, weapons, photographs and documents that tell about wars of national liberation and the unification of Bulgaria.
The family home Arnautovic became a branch of the Museum. There recreates the mid-19th century, sunset times of the Bulgarian Revival.
