Gates Charles, built in 1570, was part of the complex of the fortress wall that surrounded the city in the middle ages. The gates were named in honor of Saint Charles Borromeo, who, according to legend, was the first passed through the gate man. The gate is decorated with stone reliefs depicting the Crucifixion, St. gall and the Abbot Othmar.
