The Museum Of Anna Akhmatova. Silver age is on the street Avtovskaya in St. Petersburg. It is dedicated to "the Queen of Russian poetry" – Anna Akhmatova. The Museum was opened in 1976. In its development, it has undergone several stages: from semi-official in 1987 to state at the beginning of the XXI century – 2001. In all that time, the Museum staff has collected a variety of information and material about Akhmatova. There appeared about 23000 units of storage.
Anna Akhmatova was born in 1889. Real name – Gorenko. On her personal memories, at the age of eleven she wrote her first poem. The first poetic collection was "Evening", which appeared in print in 1912, and became extremely famous in the literary environment.
The poetry of Anna Akhmatova is somewhat dramatic and tension, but at the same time it is concise and clear. The relationship of poetry Akhmatova with the traditions of Russian lyrics obvious. The mood of poetry, poets Innokenty Annensky and Alexander Blok were her closest.
Creative activity Akhmatova, stretching for almost sixty years, crossed several eras, but retained their aspirations and principles. Akhmatova Museum tells not only about the poet and her creative work, but also about the life and work of her husband, the renowned poet of the Silver age of Nikolai Stepanovich Gumilev, as well as their son, the historian Lev Nikolaevich Gumilev. The exposition of the Museum has a chronological sequence and within 9 exhibition halls: "Royal", "Slepnevo", "stray dog", "the Journey of Nikolai Gumilev", "Petersburg", "Requiem", "Komarovo", "Poem without a hero", "Room of memory".
In the Museum you can get acquainted with the life of Anna Andreevna in Imperial and Slepnev, Bohemian life and speeches in cafe "stray dog", about travelling with her husband to Africa, about life in St. Petersburg, about the tragic fate of Nikolai Gumilev and the imprisonment of Lev Gumilev in jail. The exhibition ends with halls dedicated to the opposition of Akhmatova and the Soviets, and her last years of life.
The Museum has a collection of unique exhibits. Here visitors will see only the portrait of Anna Akhmatova, created by A. Davydov, and portrait of Nikolai Gumilev. Among the Museum's most valuable items are books with autographs of the poet, the items from the house of R. Beniash, lifetime works N. Gumilev, Anna Akhmatova and Gumilev, personal belongings L. Gumilev, a Grand piano out of the house Lozinski. Also in the Anna Akhmatova Museum has a rare collection of ancient furniture, sculpture, porcelain, collection of graphics and books from her personal library.
