The open air Museum is 15 km from Graz and covers an area of over 60 hectares. It collected about 90 different old peasant houses, sheds, barns, mills and other typical specimens of rural architecture Austria.
Tyrolean farm from Alpbach traces its history back to 1660, the estate of Western Styria dates back to the XVI century, the bell tower from Allendorf has more than 300 years.
Every day the Museum hosts a variety of activities for curious tourists. You can see how people's mistresses do needlepoint and try yourself in this difficult work. You can participate in the singing of folk songs or listen to stories. And on the last Sunday of September every year there is a Day of adventures, ending with a fun picnic.
