The manor and Park I. Asmolov, located in the city of Sumy on Trinity square, across the street from Trinity Cathedral, are the monument of landscape art. There was a Park Asmolov, I. in the late 19th - early 20th century, when Trinity began to appear in houses of wealthy citizens. Among them was a two-storey mansion of Ivan Asmolov entrepreneur and Manager of the Kharitonenko sugar, which bought the land for the construction of his residence.
Near built on the latest architectural fashion of the house on 5 acres of land was a Park with artificial ponds, where floated white and black swans, and exotic fish. Passionate breeder and traveler I. Asmolov from around the globe brought exotic plants that got along very well with the locals. In the Park there were a lot of flower beds and walkways.
During the October revolution, the Park was partially cut down, walking paths, ponds, lawns, flower beds and rock gardens became neglected. A little later in the mansion housed an orphanage, and then a sanatorium. During the war the building was used as a German hospital. In 1943, the new owner of the Park has become a regional medical and health management.
After the war, the Park began to revive, there are new types of shrubs and trees. In the early 70s manual LCS decided to upgrade the Park. Before the reconstruction in the Park there were about 80 species of shrubs, trees and vines. Today at the old manor I. Asmolov hiding silver and blue spruce. In total, the Park grows about 100 rare species of deciduous and coniferous trees and 30 varieties of lilacs.
House I. Asmolov is one of the buildings of the Sumy regional specialized dispensary of radiation protection, which is located in the Park. At the entrance to the Park grow rushing up to the heavens, pyramidal oak trees.
