The Church of the Holy Name of Jesus is part of the training complex, which was founded by the wife of the owner of the city of William Slavata – Mrs Franciscoi. First, in 1651, was elevated to the College, which was run by the Jesuits, and in 1669 was added to it the Church is consecrated in the name of Jesus. A little later, to existing buildings have achieved the dormitory, which was supposed to settle the kids, singing in the Church choir.
The construction of the Baroque Jesuit Church was entrusted to the architect Stefano Perth, invited in Telc from Italy. The construction didn't take a lot of time, so less than a year after its beginning, the Church was consecrated by Bishop Karl II von Liechtenstein-Castelar.
Though the temple was not subjected to further alterations, this is not about the buildings that surround it. Photograph of the main facade of this Church will fail since it is not visible for the neighbouring buildings. The part of the Plaza visible only to one wall of the Church.
The Church of the Holy Name of Jesus worked for a short time: it was closed simultaneously with the expulsion of the Jesuits from Bohemia. It happened in 1774. The complex of the Jesuit College, and with it the temple were given to the local garrison, whose leadership had a dormitory for soldiers. Of course, it's about keeping valuables in the Church, didn't go. Later in the temple housed the local school, and now he's given to the University of Brno.
Once in the Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, pay attention to its rich stucco work, which miraculously survived from the eighteenth century. Under the arches of the Church buried its founder Mrs. františek Clavinova.
