What's left from the castle of Cucumbers, currently owned by the city Pool.
The first mention of forbidding Gothic castle on a cliff above the river Nowogrodzka we meet in the documents 1318. The founders of the castle – pany Slavet from Chlum – rebuilt it several times, seeking more comfort. In 1573 there was a severe fire, which completely destroyed Cucumbers. Instead of the old fortress was built a Renaissance Palace, which in 1684 becomes the property of the Jesuits.
After the Jesuit order of the left border of the Czech Republic, the castle passed to the Catholic Church, and then the noble family of Thurn-taxis family, who owned it until the mid XX century.
In the XVIII century, the castle fell into disrepair and was no longer subject to restoration. Now we can see part of the square watchtowers, gates, remains of walls and a dilapidated Palace.
The castle is located 1, 5 km from the Puddle. There, a path leads through the Park to the local hospital.
