In Tokyo there are two famous TV tower – old in the district of Minato-ku and new, one of the highest structures in the world, in Sumida.

The old tower was built in 1958 and at the time of construction was considered to be the world's highest steel design. She climbed over Tokyo on 332, 6 meters. Today she just 23rd among towers of the world. For the purposes of aviation security, the tower was painted in orange and white. The tower passed the body - and the largest radio broadcasting companies in the country until 2011. Then transferred this work to the new tower, and she began to perform the role of a predominantly tourist attractions and business cards of the Japanese capital.

The tower is visited by millions of tourists who are attracted by its observation deck, museums, restaurants and even an aquarium, located in the so-called "Lower town". In the summer of 2011 Japanese TV switched to broadcasting in digital format, and the height of the old tower was insufficient to transmit a signal in some areas and upper floors of tall buildings. So in Tokyo built another tower, the height of 634 meters. It's called "sky tree" (Sky Tree), the name it received the contest, the winners of which first went up in the Observatory in may 2012.

The construction of the "Celestial tree" lasted three and a half years – from July 2008 and ended in February 2012. Its observation deck allow you to enjoy the view of Tokyo from a greater height than the old Observatory tower with 350 and 450 meters. Both sites can accommodate nearly three thousand people.

Sky tree is the highest tower in the world, and among other high-rise buildings takes the second place after the Burj Khalifa in the UAE, whose height is 828 meters.
